People throughput of 60.000 Mysteryland visitors improved

ViNotion contributed to the successful execution of Mysteryland 2013. The 20th edition of this famous dance festival, organised by ID&T, attracted as many as 60.000 visitors. Besides counting the visitors, the ViNotion camera counting system also played an important role in crowd-management. With the data from the camera and data from other parties, Crowdcom has optimize the flow of people for crowd-management, to ensure the event to be as efficient and safe as possible.

Mystery Land is divided into two separated areas, which are interconnected by a highway bridge. The past years have shown that this bridge caused congestion, especially at the end of the day when the visitors left the festival terrain. In 2012, it took an hour and a half to clear the terrain from visitors.

The camera counting system of ViNotion has delivered a major contribution to manage this issue, commissioned by Crowdcom. During the day the camera counting system measured how many visitors were present at the areas on both sides of the bridge. Based on these live measurements, Crowdcom controlled the people flow on the bridge by optimizing the two-way flow on the bridge. This approach was proved to be successful, since there was no congestion on the bridge during the whole day, and it took only half an hour to clear the areas when the festival was finished.
