Camera installation manual (engels)

Terug naar Installatie handleidingen.

For optimal counting accuracy, the installation of the camera has to satisfy the following
conditions:

  1. The horizontal viewing angle should not exceed 60 degrees. To satisfy this condition,
the distance from the camera position to the centre of counting area should be at
least the width of the passage.
  2. The tilt angle of the camera should not exceed 25 degrees downwards. To satisfy this
condition, the distance from the camera position to the centre of counting area should
be about 2.5 times the camera height.
  3. The camera height should at least be 3.5 meters.
  4. The camera viewing direction should be the same as the walking direction of the
pedestrians. A small deviation of the viewing direction is allowed (< 30 degrees) to, for
example, have the camera location to be positioned beside the street.
The camera should be a progressive scan as opposed to interlaced cameras. The
frame rate should be at least 25 frames per second. The optimal resolution of the
camera depends on the width of the passage.

VGA (640 x 480 pixels) ≤ 6 meters
XGA (1024 x 768 pixels) ≤ 12 meters
WXGA (1280 x 720 pixels) ≤ 18 meters

A higher resolution than the optimal resolution is allowed but is more demanding for
the computer hardware.
