This document provides an overview of the changes for ViSense CrowdDynamics v1.4.0, released on November 11th, 2016.
The following sections describe the most notable changes for this release (aside from bugfixes and minor improvements). For the complete changelog, see below.
Due to enhancements in the ViSense firmware for version 1.4.0, the firmware update procedure is slightly altered. For every ViSense system running 1.3.0 and lower, the so-called system update version 1.4.0+ is required prior to upgrading to firmware version 1.4.0 and up. This is done by uploading the system update in the update manager in the web-based user interface. After uploading, the browser will reload the page and the system update has succeeded. Please note that you will not receive a pop-up stating the success.
After the system update, you can update the ViSense firmware as every previous update, by uploading the 1.4.0 firmware update package in the update manager in the web-based user interface. If you have not performed the system update beforehand, the 1.4.0 update will fail and your ViSense system will keep running at the existing version. You can check the update failure by checking the version number in the main menu.
